Sophia Cowell (b. Knoxville, TN) is a New England-based painter and mixed media artist. Her practice explores of how much an image can be altered through the use of color and form, while still retaining its core essence.

She has exhibited in venues across New York, Connecticut, and Tennessee, including the solo exhibition Spring Cleaning at the Bed-Stuy Art House in Brooklyn.
